自清領時期開始，城中市場即為台北城內的攤商聚集區，時至今日也變成美食雲集的傳統市場。從早開到晚，有一整條的吃飯街，也有以販賣衣物為主的街道，是在地人採買生活用品及品嘗傳統美食的好地方。
